Today we mostly found shrews, voles, small birds, and mice of course:) The pellets contain the fur/feathers, bones, and skull of the animal the owl consumed. The students really loved this science lab!
I'm a new kindergarten teacher and owl pellets are on the schedule. I was doubtful that I could do this with so many young children. Thanks for your inspiration! :) Do you have any tips or suggestions?
Welcome to Mr. Turner's Super Kinder blog. We are a kindergarten class at Jamestown Elementary School in Arlington County, Virginia. Our class has 24 students, a lead teacher (Mr. Guye Turner), and an assistant teacher (Mrs. Valerie Kuehn). This blog will serve two purposes. The first one is to give our parents an insight on what we do in our classroom. The second is to give us the opportunity to connect with other kindergarten classrooms around the world! My students are extremely excited and we are ready to start sharing with the world what we do.

I liked the video a lot.
Thank you for letting us dissect the owl pellets.
